Invoicing over Peppol in SealDoc: live within two weeks

SealDoc Team · · 3 min read

Within two weeks you will send your invoices from SealDoc directly over the Peppol network. The same invoice you already create in SealDoc today then goes to your customer’s accounting system in one click, with no email and no PDF that someone has to retype.

Peppol is included in every paid package, starting with Invoice 50 at €7.50 per month (excl. VAT).

What Peppol is

Peppol is a European network for exchanging electronic invoices between businesses and governments. An invoice does not land in a mailbox as an attachment, but travels as a structured message from one accounting system to the other. Sender and recipient are both connected to the network, and a central address directory makes sure the invoice reaches the right party.

The format is Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, an implementation of the European standard EN 16931. For a deeper look: what Peppol BIS 3.0 is and how addressing works.

Who it matters for

  • Businesses with Belgian customers. Since 1 January 2026 a structured electronic invoice between Belgian businesses is mandatory, and Peppol is the standard channel there. Read what changed in Belgium.
  • Suppliers to the Dutch government. The Dutch central government and many other public bodies receive their invoices via Peppol.
  • Businesses with French customers. Since 1 September 2026 every business in France must be able to receive electronic invoices, through a platform approved by the French tax authority. The French government already receives invoices over Peppol through Chorus Pro, and you reach a French customer directly when their platform is connected to Peppol. Read what changes in France.
  • Everyone whose customer is already on Peppol. More and more accounting packages receive via Peppol. An invoice that arrives that way lands straight in your customer’s records, without anyone retyping it.

How it works in SealDoc

When you send an invoice, you will soon choose between email and Peppol. You create the invoice the way you are used to, and then choose the route.

SealDoc sends your invoice directly over the Peppol network. SealDoc takes care of the connection and of registering your business on the network. You simply carry on in the screen you know.

Before the first message, SealDoc checks your details: your email address must be confirmed, and your VAT number is checked against the European VAT database (VIES).

What you can do now

  • Check your company details. Your VAT number and address must be correct, because they are what puts your business on the network.
  • Ask your customers whether they receive via Peppol. For Belgian businesses that has been the rule since this year, and among many other customers it is growing fast.
  • Create your invoices in SealDoc already. As soon as Peppol is switched on, you send them in one click.

In short

Within two weeks Peppol goes live in SealDoc. In every paid package you then send your invoices directly to your customer’s accounting system, under your own company name. See the packages or start with invoicing in SealDoc.
