SealDoc Invoice
Create XRechnung and ZUGFeRD invoices in your browser
SealDoc Invoice takes you through the invoice and gives you one file: a PDF/A-3 with the XRechnung or Factur-X data embedded. 5 invoices a month are free.
Account required. No credit card, no installation.
Illustration. People read the page, software reads the XML.
How it works
From sign-up to download in four steps
-
Create an account
When SealDoc asks what you will use it for, choose “Create e-invoices”. That puts you on the free plan with 5 invoices a month.
-
Enter your company details once
Name, address, VAT ID or German Steuernummer, and IBAN. Every invoice after that uses them.
-
Fill in the invoice
Choose XRechnung DE when your customer asks for an XRechnung, otherwise Factur-X Basic. Add the buyer, the lines and the VAT. For an XRechnung, SealDoc also asks for the buyer reference or Leitweg-ID and a contact with phone and e-mail, and names any field that is missing. Fill in your customer’s e-mail address too: XRechnung 3.0 requires it (BT-49).
-
Download the PDF/A-3
SealDoc builds the file, checks it with veraPDF against PDF/A-3B and gives you exactly those bytes. You send it to your customer yourself.

Questions
Frequently asked
Is SealDoc Invoice free?
Yes, for up to 5 invoices a month. You need an account, not a credit card. For more invoices there are paid packages, from €7.50 a month excl. VAT.
Is a PDF with embedded XML a valid XRechnung?
The XRechnung itself is the XML. SealDoc embeds it in a PDF/A-3, so one file carries the XML and a readable page. In a hybrid file the XML is the leading part (BMF). Some receiving portals only take a pure XML file, and SealDoc Invoice does not produce one today.
Do I need a Leitweg-ID?
Only for invoices to German public bodies; the authority that orders from you gives you the Leitweg-ID. An XRechnung to a business customer still needs a buyer reference in BT-10, such as a reference your customer gives you.
Can I use it as a Kleinunternehmer?
Yes. Choose § 19 UStG as the exemption ground; SealDoc puts the statutory note on the invoice and in the XML, and uses your Steuernummer if you have no VAT ID. Under § 34a UStDV a Kleinunternehmer may always issue an ordinary invoice instead of an e-invoice, so you mainly need an XRechnung when a customer asks for one.
Does SealDoc send the invoice to my customer?
No. You download the file and send it yourself, by e-mail or through your customer’s portal. SealDoc is not a Peppol access point.
